USB host with STM3240GPRIM-D

Hi all,

I'm in need for a real hi-speed USB host on STM32F4xx chip. The device will not work in full-speed and I will have to do a lot of calculations.

As far as I could understand the schematics, it is designed to support the OTG, so the host is indeed possible. A bit weird is the mini-B socket instead of mini-AB (A for host, B for device).

I will get my primer target board in two week, and I hope that my quest for an affordable hi-speed host solution will end with success.

Am I right thinking the STM32F4 target board could do as the hi-speed USB host?

Re: USB host with STM3240GPRIM-D

The board is effectively designed for OTG (except the USB connector), and works fine in high-speed device mode. So, it is "just" a pb of software. The ST library provides all the staff to manage the STM32F4 in host or OTG mode.

Re: USB host with STM3240GPRIM-D

Thank you very much for your reply.

I received my primer board. Now, I'm wondering which Tyco 70 pin receptable would be the right one. The search at mouser and digikey was unsuccessfull. Can you help with the "purchase number" and the supplier?

/Dima

P.S. Buying the base and "extracting" the socket is not the option.

Re: USB host with STM3240GPRIM-D

You can modify the example progam in the example folder.  I think it is i2c–ee.c.  I will post the code if you are still having trouble.  Search the Raisonance folder for an i2c file.

It is all about coming up with new ways...to do the same old thing.
