The 2011 application design contest has been inspired and sponsored by members of the Autonomie project, a consortium of industry and research partners who are working to provide technology solutions that facilitate participation in daily life by persons suffering from handicaps, notably the sight impaired and blind.

The OpenWorld design contest, however, is open to project proposals for technology that assists persons with handicaps or limiting medical conditions including sight, hearing, or mobility impairments.

If you have any questions regarding the project, related technologies, or the topic of human assistance applications, please post them here. We’ll be happy to answer your questions.

You said that any external hardware should be commercially available.
Can't we use the customized board external to Evo primer board?

Also what is the maximum size of team in one project allowed?

Hi,
You can add custom board extensions for the EvoPrimer.

If you do this, the rules specify:

• "... components must be commercially available..."
(this means the different devices implemented on your custom board must be resold somewhere so that the design can be reproduced.)

• "... participant must supply the schematic and send a prototype to Raisonance of all the additional hardware..."
(this is necessary in order to judge the different entries. It would be impossible for our judges to reproduce all of the hardware additions in a timely manner.)

There are no limitations on the number of people who can participate on one entry. On the other hand, if you win it will be up to you to split the prize.
