Target Power Failure: Measured X

Hi everyone.

A friend gave me this STM32 Primer 2 but i have had problems with it since i got it. Then i was driving home with it I noticed that it was getting a little warm, while it was turned off. Then i came home and installed the drivers that came with it on my  computer then i started charge it with the USB and it just gave this red LED in the top as it should then chargeing. Then i left it for 6 hours or something and then i came back the red led was still on, so i tried to turn it on but it wont turn on hmm (Then my friend gave it to me he started it up and it worked)

I found the warm spot and i kinda burned my finger!

Watch this picture below
http://www.mediafire.com/imageview.php? … mp;thumb=4

I think the heat comes from the yellow component.

Also if i try to flash it with RFlasher7 it says:

Target Power Failure: Measured 1.5000000v
Target Power Failure: Measured 0.8000000v
Target Power Failure: Measured 0.9000000v

And just keep doing that with random numbers.

Help is much appreciated

Regards Trio36 & I am sorry about my english, stick with me smile

Re: Target Power Failure: Measured X

I found out that my volt regulator is broken. Is it possible to replace the component? Or maybe return the product?

Re: Target Power Failure: Measured X

Search some electronics forums if there is group orders from digi-key.

it's this component 497-4222-1-ND
http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSea … -4222-1-ND

Order 2-3 pcs. They are about 3-4e / pcs

Edit:
You can also try if you can have samples from ST.
