Can anyone help in letting me know about any free tools on the internet that can be used for calculating FIR/IIR filter coefficients for usage with the APIs provided in the ST's DSP library. I have searched on ST's website but didn't find any tools for doing this. I know Microchip provide a tool for their DSP libraries. I don't have MATLAB.

I modified the java applet found at http://www.dsptutor.freeuk.com/IIRFilte … esign.html to suit my sample rate.
I get the required coefficients this way.

Do you have any alternative apart from this?

Unfortunately I have trouble using the FIR/IIR methods of ST's DSP library.
Did you try these library out any time. Any success?
If yes can you please send some sample implementation of the same.

I've used some of the functions in ST's DSP library in my recent project, but I'm unsure about the FIR/IIR.

I saw your video - stm32 oscilloscope. Looks like a great piece of work. If it is possible for you to share your work please email me the same at satishgn@yahoo.com.
It will definitely help me in the learning process.
For Filter implementation I now use the C code generated by
http://www-users.cs.york.ac.uk/~fisher/mkfilter/. Its floating point thats the biggest disadvantage but atleast I can understand the filter's application.
ST provided DSP libraries but not the sample code or documentation for each API. whats the use?

That's not true! ST has provided a nice documentation about the whole DSP library.

For your information this project uses also STM32F10x DSP library.
