Dead Primer2 - U3 Audio DAC loosen from motherboard

Hello.  I just purchased two Primer2 from mouser.com last weekend for my project. One was OK and I played it for a few times.

Another one is a standby unit, and I prepared to test it today. When I took it out from its box, there was nothing special on the LCD and the plastic case. However, it had a loosen IC chip (U3, Audio DAC) from motherboard,  So I do not dare to power it on.

May be it is my fault. But please guide me for a replacement or a "return to factory" repair. I am in Hong Kong, may it be possible to return the unit to mouser (Hong Kong) office instead.

Many thanks in advance.

Stanley.

The motherboard and the MCU may still working.
Because, Circle_Mgr.exe can list the programs in flash, and Cortex_pgm.exe can dump the hex file.

The output is as below.

C:\Program Files\Raisonance\Ride\lib\ARM\CircleOS>Circle_Mgr.exe L
Circle_Mgr: software for managing CircleOS applications.

Connecting to RLink... OK
Connecting to target... OK

Hoping the above information helps. Any ideas?

Stanley.

The pcb version is Primer 2 V1.1 , does it matter ?
Anybody here has knowledge on the SMT for BGA chips ?
What can I do, or just wait for a reply from supplier?

Besides, don't know why the top picture link doesn't work.  I shall upload it again tonight.

Re: Dead Primer2 - U3 Audio DAC loosen from motherboard

well even if you had the resources to solder bga chips (Vapour Phase Soldering machine or whatever) I wouldn't recommend trying to fix it (I'm not sure about the display being temperature resistant for that) and because there's solder on the pads already I doubt it would work. So basically I see two options: either you return it and ask for a replacement (if it was delivered in this state), or if you don't need the codec, just use the primer 2 without it.

btw: the capacitor next to it looks burnt. that's unusual
