Another Dead Primer2

After a few hours of playing with my shiny new Primer2 the screen froze so I removed the battery jumper and replaced it. On pressing the the joystick to turn it on the screen came on white and nothing else happened.  I have re-flashed it with the factory firmware which did not fix it. from what I have read on the forum this could be a dead reg but the fact that the unit only lasted a few hours before dying makes me wonder.  If it is a dead reg, where can one get new l6928 regs from?

Re: Another Dead Primer2

FYI, we repaired several Primer2s that had either U9 or U17 dead. When we repair them, we replace the deaad regulators, but we also replace the U23/U56 capacitors (input voltage for the regulators) by multi layer ceramic capacitors (instead of tantalum). It seems that it solves the problem.

Re: Another Dead Primer2

I have also had this occur.  The battery has power & circle_mgr can connect (usually -- sometimes it reports a low voltage error), but the screen does not show anything & the welcome audio does not play.  Please email me the repair information also.

Re: Another Dead Primer2

We used at Raisonance 1210 (22µF 10V). Farnell reference: 9527770.
But our subcontractor uses smaller ones.

Hi,

First take a look to the "Resources/how to/resolved known problems" page.
