I am trying to buy a Primer from Mouser, but they say:
45 12/12/2012 Estimated Ship Date
via a live chat, the attendant said that the ship time can be 52 weeks (which means a whole year).

Somebody knows whats going on? And when (or probably when) Mouser, Digikey, Farnell, etc, is going to have Primers for sale?

ST received 1300 primers last week (to close a first order of 4000). They should be available at the distributors before the end of this week. The next batch (2000) should be received at mid-december. Then 2000 again for the end of the year.

I'm STILL struggling to get Farnell to deliver in the UK.
Francis can you confirm the delivery of the 1300 - don't know where they went but I can't get one!

Yes but I understood the backlog was much higher... However, I have seen some distris have some stock (Spoerle, NuHorizons).

Unfortunately this is of no use to any one in the UK. Spoerle appear to be German, and NuHorizons don't do ST parts in the UK. Any other suggestions?

I'm looking to get one of these too in the UK. So far only found Farnell and Rapid sell them but neither have any stock (for a moment I had one in my basket on Rapid but it was gone and replaced with 1-2 month availability before I could checkout).

Any other suggestions of where you can get them from in the UK or shipped here?

I expect them to be very hard to get here now since the IET (Institute of Engineering & Technology) have featured it in their monthly mag (where I saw it)!

Yes Rapid have just burnt me!

I have an Email from them yesterday saying delivery of 10 units on the 17th December. Tried to place an order - now its jumped to January. I am rapidly (pun intended) loosing heart with this.

News from the manufacturing: the next batch (2000) will be shipped to ST at the end of the week. Hopefully, it will take 1-2 weeks to reach the stocks of the distributors.

Well I suppose ST can mark the product as a sucess so far.

Is this in addition to the 1300 released earlier or had the 1300 just get bumped upto 2000?
I wonder where they will end up? You can't get them for love of money in the UK!
I've had one on order since October!!!!!

The 2000 are in addition. But there will be still a backlog and the next batchs are planned for January.

DigiKey (http://www.digikey.co.uk/) have a delivery tomorrow (so they say), with more on 2nd jan (although looks like that one is only estimated).

Shipping is from the US though, so add £17 & a week or two delivery. Go on the online chat and they will check the allocated back order units.

Also FutureElectronics.com did say they had some in Asia which they could ship to UK but were unable to give pricing on shipping.

I expect mine will arrive from DigiKey just after Rapid get some in stock...which will be typical.

On a plus side there is a world surplus of hens teeth, as primers have taken over...

Well I placed an order with Future Electronics on 22 October 2007, I have been pestering them since and I had been told they would be expecting delivery soon. Now yesterday they are saying that they still don't have any, they are saying there was an initial lead time of 26 weeks, so not to expect them any time soon. So I'm not expecting them for another 3 months... I think ST/Raisonance have shot themselves in the foot with this one, they need to get more made very quick!

Can't order on line - need to phone in. Need to tell them you do not have an account, and need to set one up otherwise there is a minimum order of £40.

P.S. there are 2 left.

Finally got mine. The delivery Digikey said they expected on 20th didn't happen. Also found the Farnell ones in stock (so much for April, but nevermind). Ordered on 1st Jan, got it today. Last time I looked they had plenty more in stock, so any other UK people wanting these go for it, £30 inc VAT and free P&P.
