General add on connector question

Hello all,
do I need to get a STM32-Primer2-PRO license to get access to the 20pin connector through software, or can I just start to develop software to access an external hardware which is connector to the USART on a STM32-Primer2 ?

Are there other sources in Europe maybe Switzerland where I can get the prototype boards?

Thank you in advance,
Michael.

Re: General add on connector question

No need for the license. It's only for debugging programs bigger than 32K, and has nothing to do whatsoever with the hardware. I'm already directly programming the Primer2, without using the OS. The advantage is that I get a lot more free space to debug. In fact, I've already programmed an application to use the USAT2 on the extension board.

No idea for where to buy the prototype boards, aside from directly from Raisonance. I'd be interested to know if you find a source.

Cheers,
Kenn

Re: General add on connector question

cant you make it for yoursef or mabe some friends can do it for you? there is no any complexities on them, exept fabric made design... i think you may freelly use conventional proto board or make modern home made board using FR

Re: General add on connector question

Raisonance just made 500 boards, to be sold by set of 10. Unfortunately, the manufacturer printed the silkscreen on the wrong side... Don't know yet what we'll do with these boards.

Re: General add on connector question

Likewise. If the connections are good, might as well put them to use in spite of the misplaced silkscreen.

Re: General add on connector question

Finally it seems that the two layers (bottom/top) have been inverted. It means:
  1. VCC2V8 and GND are inverted
  2. VCC2V8 and VCCEXT are connected (VCCEXT is supposed to be an input to charge the battery from an external source). I believe that they can be left connected (or you would have to remove the pin VCCEXT from the connector).

Raisonance doesn't want to sell these wrong boards unitary (nor by 10). If someone is interested, he could purchase 50 units for 75 euros (plus shipment) then resell them to others...  These wrong boards would be shipped connectors. For a connector,  see:
