No. At the moment this bluetooth module is not available. The purpose of the extension board was a demonstration at the GSM exhibition in Barcelona. But I understood that it could become available in the future...
I'm also interested in the bluetooth module. Does anyone know who made this module (ST? i think I saw it on their HP but cannot find it again) or have some further info about that module?
ST made a few modules only for demonstration purposes (to demonstrate their BT devices at the GSM-Barcelona exhibition). It is interfaced through the USART. The software is based on the Micrium MicroC-OS and their BT stack. CircleOS has been defined as a task of MicroS-OS. A CircleOS application has been developed to exchange a list of contacts with a moble.
Goood luck, if you hope to find a bluetooth module based on STLC2500D; you'll be growing a very long beard before you find it; eventually. Tried that already.
I guess if you want to get into this, you may want to start with the newest BLUETOOTH 2.1 version, but the pickings are really slim on this. Your best bet would be BLUEGIGA. http://www.bluegiga.com/Bluetooth_Modules select class 1(100meters range) or class 2 (10 meters range) based on your application. select those modules with upgraded firmware to 2.1 version. Read datasheet and briefs to select the right connectivity type USB, UART, SPI, GPIO , HCI etc
for those in UK and EU, Farnell has them. BLUEGIGA - WT11-A-AI - MODULE, BLUETOOTH, CLASS1 2.1 New Farnell Order Code: 1656895 Manufacturer Part No: WT11-A-A BLUEGIGA - WT12-A-AI - MODULE, BLUETOOTH, CLASS2 2.1 Farnell Order Code: 1656896 Manufacturer Part No: WT12-A-AI
In USA can be obtain from Symmetry Electronics/ SemiconductorStore.com http://www.bluegiga.com/distributor?c=United+States Two antenna options: internal chip antenna (-A) or U.FL connector (-E)(you also need external antena)
of course you need a BLUETOOTH 2.1 compatible USB BT dongle on the PC to take advantage of all new features. like: http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSea … 22-1010-ND or cirago BTA-6210 Class 1 USB Micro Bluetooth Dongle support Bluetooth 2.1 cirago BTA-3210 Class 2 or ZOOM 4322 USB Adapter
================= If BLUETOOTH 2.0 version is good enough for your application.
1) AMBER WIRELESS - AMB2300 Farnell Order Code: 1642377 Manufacturer Part No: AMB2300
its easy to implement bluetooth using for example F2M03GLA, its low power mode, v2.0+EDR, our team brought two pieces with uart firmware, and in another design im using it without any problems, exept it can link only with one client(pairing)
But in fact could be much more easy to use a Micro SD Wireless Card, Wlan 802. 11b / G, Wifi Card (PW6000-059)in the micro SD port of the Primer 2 (since it seems to support SDIO/ SPI mode .If you can get your hands on one and the Docs to write the software drv.
