It seems to be burned.. I got the same problem by 'touching' the PCB with my fingers (ESD?). I don't know what I touched... We tried to find out the reason for this, and had some exchanges with ST about the regulators. At the moment, they recommend to replace the input capacitors (C23/C56) by ceramic capacitors (to improve the filtering).
Hi Earlyperl - I think I've had a similar problem.
My Primer2's demos all worked out of the box (including driving the PC's Mouse, so USB connectivity was OK), but I couldn't connect using the Debug function in RIDE. I got a similar error message to the one above: OPI Driver "Target power failure: Measured 1.100000V" <OK>.
I then upgraded the Primer2 operating system to v3.5 using the .Primer2 Upgrade zip file available here: http://www.stm32circle.com/resources/stm32primer2.php, and it seems to work - I can now connect in Debug mode!!
There are two different issues presented at http://www.stm32circle.com/resources/known.php. One is software (the Primer1 OS shutdown the Primer2), and I guess that Certando encountered this problem, and the second is hardware (earlyperl). For the hardware issue, the 2 L6928D regulators are delicate on the Primer2, and could be damaged (I killed some Primers by touching everywhere the bottom layer of the PCB with my fingers). To make them more resistant, the solution consists in replacing the two tantalum input capacitors (C23 and C56, 10uF-10V) by ceramic capacitors (or to avoid to touch the PCB with your fingers when the power is switched on...).
Hi Francis - sorry , it looks like my problem was operator error!
My Primer2 was powering itself down before I tried to enter debug, and so the OPI Driver fails. The solution is just to press the orange button to turn on the Primer2 before entering Debug.
After changing the regulator, i updated CircleOs to 3.5, after flashing the LCD was blinking and Sound did not work, Now i changed the second regulator and all works fine...
Hi Folks, I've got an other power problem: Primer 2 was updated to Circle-OS 3.6; while charging (red led is lit), nothing happens. After turning red led to green (charging has ended), after a few seconds the Primer enters shutdown. U9 seems to be ok, for it keeps cool and I noticed this on a few Primer's.... Is there a auto-shutdow implemented in tho OS and if so, can this be disabled??
Take care that there are 2 possible updates: one for the original Primer (said Primer1, but the files do not have any number), and the other for Primer2 (always said as Primer2). Anyway, yes, there is an automatic shutdown (but it is triggered after a certain time (1mn?).
Hello, Francis, yes, I used the right Update-Files and it works fine, but even the shutdown. So i'l try to take a look for the shutdown sequence in the 3.6-Source. Thanks a lot for the tip.
