Audio line in (no microphone) on Primer2?

Hi there,

I got today my Primer2 and tried to to some audio stuff with it. One application I am thinking of needs audio in (at line level). The stw5054a seems to have a audio in with line level, the FMx port. Is there a way to access this port? The stw5054a is BGA... maybe there are somewhere two solder pins. Or can I rip the microphone and use this port as a line in?

If not, the extension connector contains (thank you!) the i2s pins. Can I connect a custom codec there (parallel to the internal one, or do I have to disable the internal one)?. I have some TLV320AIC23B here, but no knowledge in connecting more than one codec to that bus.

Thanks, -Klaus

Re: Audio line in (no microphone) on Primer2?

Ok,

I found out that the stw5054a is not a real codec, it is more or less a stereo d/a converter at full speed (44.1-48 kHz) and a mic a/d converter with 8-16 KHz. So there is just the solution with a external codec.

To the first question: Yes, you can disable the stw5094a and use the I2S signals on the extension connector.
