Hello

Using ride7 and primer1, the debug menu is greyed out - clicking start does not work.

Project properties>advanced rlink config - This works, I can connect, read serial number, flash, erase etc...

I have playe with a few options and foun data execution prevention was stopping the debugger from loading

I now get the error "Code size limit exceeded!" even with a new project!?!? but it does atleast start loading the debug.

Hi Kram

Can you answer to the questions that you will find below, this will help us and everybody in this forum to make you suggestions.

It seems you have 3 issues, so it is better to separate them:

1. Code size limit exceeded
Please try to modify the option Starter kit limitation from linker options.
Are you using a project with circleOS?

2. Stopping the debugger from loading
Can you give more details I do not understand this issue.
The option that manage if debug is requested or not is on "Project properties>advanced rlink config "

3. Debug menu is greyed out
What is your software kits version?
Did the problem just appeared or you could never make it work?
It seems that it just appeared so do you have any idea of what has been changing()?
Do you have the problem with any project, for instance the example project "Toggle" given in ride7 installation?

Im sure this is an install issue. I try to run toggle with circle OS and I just get a blank screen now.

I can run the toggle program that doesnt use circle, it works.

I still get the code size error, changing one of the linker options "use defualt script file" does sometimes fix this and sometimes stops it working.

Im going to try one more time to reinstall ride7. Please advise me which files to put where.
I am using the most recent Ride7 install on the site:
Ride7
7.14.001
Rkit Arm
1.13.0810

C:\Program Files (x86)\Raisonance\Ride\Lib\ARM\CircleOS
With the OS folder moved to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Raisonance\Ride\Lib\ARM\CircleOS\Source

Is this correct?

Im currently missing the
C:\Program Files (x86)\Raisonance\Ride\Lib\ARM\CircleOS\Applications folder
so it wont compile.

I downloaded and installed using the resource CD

However this seems to contain only RIDE and a couple manuals. It doesnt contain the full circleOS.

Im wondering if vista is playing with me, by preventing it installing correctly/restoring old installs. Ill try putting it in a different place.

We are still testing the new CD that is supposed to fix various problems (it was planned for last Monday...) but we are optimistic for today..

The update is posted (BN12). You will find it in the Primer2 resource page (CD_ROM image link).
Main improvements are:
1. CircleOS 3.4 (to be also updated on the site)
2. Programming is much faster
3. Management of WFI in SWD mode
4. New 'Getting Started with Primer2'
5. Examples have been modified/added.
6. Various fixes in RIDE7.
7. New GCC compiler.
For RIDE7 and the ARM kit, a complete release note will be published tomorrow on the Raisonance web site.

Should this work ok with primer1?

The main problem I was having is with circleOS sources not being installed correctly, I hope this fixes

Most of the improvements are for Primer2. However, you will have a faster programmng speed with Primer1 too.

Thanks, it works now - I had to use 1.7 first to get the applications folder.
