STM CircleOS forum / Blue screen after start debug

Maybe this is problem in any configuration of Ride. I can't start debug ... I've got OS 1.7 , load example "toggle with OS", then start debug ... it is programming, and the LCD turn of ... it's all. Do I make any mistakes? The same application works after normal "add_to_circle" .

I would like to have more details about the problem you have because this example has been used by a lot of customers
and ourselves.

Here is what I do and I found no problem:
+ I open "toggle_with_circleOS.rprj"
+ I connect the primer usb debug to the computer and turn on te primer
+ I make "Debug->start " and it programs
+ I click on the green arrow
After these steps I have the OS running and I can select the menu by pushing start button.

Can you please describe me all teh steps you followed.
Also when you say the same application works after normal "add_to_circle" can you say what you have done precisly?

OK, I try to describe what I do.

The OS is updated to ver 1.7.

+ I open "toggle_with_circleOS.rprj"
+ I connect the primer usb debug to the computer and turn on the Primer
+ I make "Debug->start " and it programs

and after them green arrow (run) is not active, Primer screen is turned off.
Also after reset OS does not work. By normal adding any application via
"add_to_circle " it is working only this debugging I don't understand.

I also tried it with boot_mode = RAM. Maybe other configuration items in RIDE
should be set?

Hi Peter

The problem might come from the update of the circle OS.

I do not know if you alreday tried it so I suggest this:
Can you try to open the project toggle_with_circleOS, to delete the FAT.elf and the Circle.elf
Then add the FAT.elf from Circle.elf from the CircleOS folder to the project.
And build the project before trying to debug.

Hi,

I have good news ! I downloaded the actual version of Install Disc from this site
and reinstalled the RIDE. After that I did all the steps for debugging and it works
properly. I checked via "RLink Configuration/Connect to RLink and read serial number"
following infos about limitations: "Debug limited to 32kb, FLash programming not limited".
By not working versions I had the same plus info "only boot mode RAM available".
But now the debugger works by "boot mode Flash".
Maybe this was the problem .
