Best Tools to Start use the STM32F103

Hi all!

I am retired and a couple of years ago I decided to learn MCUs. I started with the AVR Family, I am able to program in assembly and I know how to use all peripherals like, timers, UARTS, ADC, WDT, SPI, I2C, all type of interrupts, etc.

I have done also some programing using C, but I decided to move up to a 32 bits MCU and I would like to know the best tools to start with like C compiler and debugger IDE (free). Tools to program the MCU or if possible embedded debug tools.

I was thinking on buy a Maple mini that uses a STM32F103CBT6 and is a low cost board, but, I would like to have your suggestions for the development tools as well as the hardware to start with.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Manuel

Hi Manuel,

An Open4 with a STM32F103xE or STM32F103xG target board is a powerful low cost solution with embedded debug tools.
You can find on this web site all needed information and examples.
You can download the RIDE framework (GCC compiler + IDE) on Raisonance website.
