openOCD 0.3.1-1 and Primer 2

Hi Guys,

The link below claims that openocd supports RLink on Primer2
http://packages.debian.org/sid/openocd

However, when I looked at the documentation with the package, it says
"Raisonance has an adapter called RLink. It exists in a stripped-down form on the STM32
Primer, permanently attached to the JTAG lines. It also exists on the STM32 Primer2, but
that is wired for SWD and not JTAG, thus not supported."

I am not sure if the help documentation is upto date or if its a mistake on the link above. Anyway, I was wondering if any of you guys had a chance to play around with it? I installed it and tried to connect to it with the target and interface .cfg files. I could see the board reset when connecting, however, I could not halt the device or erase it.

Any inputs would be helpful.

Thanks,
Rajah

Hi,

No, openocd doesn't support SWD (yet) so you either have to rewire (hardware rework) the embedded rlink to connect to JTAG lines of the STM32 chip or to try to make an old hackish patch that brings partial support of SWD to openocd work with rlink. I guess the first option is much easier.

Also search this forum, it has the links to the relevant patches etc.
