Projects are pointing to wrong folder!!!

Most of the projects I have seen so far point to...

C:\Program Files\Raisonance\Ride\Lib\ARM\CircleOS\

But the software is all installed at the folder bellow, as default?

C:\Program\Raisonance\Ride\Lib\ARM\CircleOS\

Re: Projects are pointing to wrong folder!!!

Can someone who is working with this, take all the projects at...
http://stm32circle.com/projects/list.php

And give all projects a common directory path!!!

It can't be right that everyone has to do this by them selves. It is downright stupid!!!

Re: Projects are pointing to wrong folder!!!

I believe it depends on the Windows language. The English default is "C:\Program Files\Raisonance\Ride\Lib\ARM\CircleOS\
", but it would be different for other languages.

Re: Projects are pointing to wrong folder!!!

Ok! but this doesn't help...

Every project uses it's own directory structure.
And it ain't stated were to put the projects.

Can someone make a tutorial on how to know where to
put the project files. But actually I think its better to change all
the projects once and for all!!!

Re: Projects are pointing to wrong folder!!!

Hi

Here are some precisions about project files in our IDE:
- When you add a file in a project node and save the project
the path of the file is not saved as absolute path but relatively to the
place where the .rprj is saved.
So if a project is sent with the same structure file there should
be no problem.
- For dependencies and other paths which are options of the project
you have the possibility to use predefined variables which are relative
to the software installtion directory.
For example "$(RKitLib)" is C:\Program Files\Raisonance\Ride\Lib\ if
software is installed in C:\Program Files\Raisonance\Ride
You can also use environment variables such %APPDAT% etc ...

So if the project is created correctly the problem should not happen.

I really doubt all projects in the project page are created in a wrong way.
So may be there is a problem which is specific to your environment or to few
projects but not to all as I use them often with a very strange installation path.

Matloub

Re: Projects are pointing to wrong folder!!!

I guess this is hard to understand for someone who is
living in a world of doubt, and love theory and not practice.
But I guess that crowded elevators smell different to midgets.

These projects are user specific!!!
These problems doesn't exists on the
platform they were created. The problem starts
when these projects are handed over to someone else.
And that this code has to access an OS somewhere on
your hardware that is undefined for the one who created the
project in the fist place.

Why don't you test yourself instead of living in a world of doubt.
Experience is a great way to earn knowledge, guessing is not.

But guessing is some kind of industry standard at Raisonance
I suppose. So instead of ignoring this by software
"sexually transmitted disease"
Use something that will cure it.

If I agreed with you we'd both be wrong.
Your ignorance doesn't serve anyone.

I guess you want to die peacefully in your sleep, like your grandfather..
Not screaming and yelling like the passengers in his car.

Re: Projects are pointing to wrong folder!!!

Ok! I follow your rules. smile

Ignorance is bliss.
Maybe it will solve all problems.

I follow this standard 'Raisonance' practice, in the future.

Thanks for the remark Kasper smile
