Question: Primer1 battery life

Hello,

can anyone tell me, how long the maximal battery life lasts?

Because, the manual says: "...for about 2 hours..." but there is no exact lifetime.

Thank you

Re: Question: Primer1 battery life

Of course it depends on the consumption (settings of the speed, backlight, etc...).
It also depends on the unit. For example, I made some tests with 4-5 Primers, and - in the same condition - the overall consumption could be +-20%. I guess that the variability is due to the backlight.

Re: Question: Primer1 battery life

Ok,

another question: is there a way to enable a Sleep-Modus instead of shutting down the Primer1?

Thank you

Re: Question: Primer1 battery life

You can reduce the consumption, but it will not be very low... The board has not beed designed for this purpose.

Re: Question: Primer1 battery life

It's a pity, that there is no sleep-mode.

But after all, I programmed a small energy-saving-mode.
And in my opinion it is working well.

Re: Question: Primer1 battery life

Most of the power is consumed in the backlight.. It is quite easy to cut-off this load. Then, you can probably disable the MEMS.. but I don't remember whether RLink still consumes some current or not.

Re: Question: Primer1 battery life

Ok,

I have already set the backlight to the darkest level.
I put the CPU Frequency to the lowest level, too.
Maybe I will try to disable the MEMS, too.
But according to this point, Im not sure, that I do that.
I will think about it.

Re: Question: Primer1 battery life

The most efficient would be to switch off the backlight (zero consumption on the BL) when no input occurs after a timeout.
