STM32 Primer2 and OpenOCD

Hello!

Anyone managed to run Primer2 with OpenOCD? I have read some posts from the past and it turns out that Primer2 use SWD (http://www.arm.com/products/solutions/SWD.html) as opposed to Primer1. But both Primer1 and Primer2 use RLink based device to program the target MCU. Is is possible then to use STM7 on the Primer2 to behave as JTAG dongle?

Regards,
Tomek

Re: STM32 Primer2 and OpenOCD

OMG! I have killed my Primer2 by connecting to OpenOCD!!! Now the device is not responding even to Ride7 :-( Both red leds ale turned on. How can I get my Primer2 back to life?

Re: STM32 Primer2 and OpenOCD

OpenOCD does not support the Primer2 because the Primer2 debug uses only SWD (instead of JTAG for Primer1). And OpenOCD manages only JTAG...
I don't know what is performed by OpenOCD, but I don't see any reason for 'locking' your Primer. Quite surprizing.

Re: STM32 Primer2 and OpenOCD

Hmm, I can get no connection to the embedded RLink. I will try to check the voltages (I have seen the stabilizer problems)...

I am also wondering to cut off the SWD pins and reconnect JTAG ones between RLink and STM32 to gain exactly the same connection as in Primer1. The firmware is 0.0.3 in both cases (Primer1 and Primer2) so is is possible to work that way?

Neverthless, STM32 itself should have a builtin bootloader that allows program code upload via USB. Is there already a DFU implementation for STM32? This would definately increase Primer2 sell by those who only need to upload their code avoiding RLink...
