Ride7 editor

The Ride7 editor is nice, clean and fairly easy to work with.

There does seem to be an issue with tabulation.  When I insert a new line of code above code that has been indented, the second line moves one tab stop to the left.  Is there any way of correcting this through the Editor settings?

Also, when working with a project or file, you cannot tell what file or project you are working on.  The file name doesn't appear in the menu bar.  It starts to be a problem when you have files opened from another project.  It would be good to see the path on the top of the window.  Although you can view the file path at the side, the space is too small, so you only really see the main folder.

Thanks,

STPrime

Re: Ride7 editor

Hi STPrime,

Which version of Ride7 are you working with?

In the latest version of Ride7(7.34), the Indentation system has been improved and you can select your preferences from Options|Editor preferences.

You can also hover the mouse over the tabulation of the edited files to display their full path in a popup window.

Behnaz

Re: Ride7 editor

Hello,

I am using version 7.30.10.0169, the free version with the EVOPrimer.  On the download page, it says:

Warning: Ride verson 7.32.11.0112 and later versions can not be used with the following RKits:

RKit Versions Use this RKit version with Ride version...
RKit-ARM 1.30.10.0356 and earlier Ride 7.30.10.0169 or earlier
RKit-STM8 2.32.10.0307 and earlier Ride 7.30.10.0169 or earlier
RKit51 6.08.10.0309 and earlier Ride 7.30.10.0169 or earlier
RKit-PPC 1.08.10.0277 and earlier Ride 7.30.10.0169 or earlier
RKit-C816 1.06.10.0355 and earlier Ride 7.30.10.0169 or earlier

The information in the HELP box shows that I have:

Ride7  version 7.30.10.0159 fully functional, no serialization required
RKit-ARM for Ride7 version 1.30.10.0356, fully functional, no serialization required
Ride7 - patch version 7.30.10.0169, fully functional, no serialization required

I think I fall under the warning!  Unless there is a special arrangement for the Contest version.  I won't install the latest version until I can get confirmation it will work with what I have.

Thanks,

STPrime

Re: Ride7 editor

Hi,

I'm sorry, but effectively we changed the licence management, and the new versions of Ride7 are not compatible with your KitARM version.
If you want to update your software, you should by at least a "Lite" licence.

Yves

Re: Ride7 editor

I installed the latest downloadable version and it worked with the RKit I had.

It wasn't until I had an unexpected laptop shutdown due to a USB connection that it stopped working.

I got is working again by renaming ...[edited by the administrators]... runs the complete Ride7 program and all the options.

Thanks,
STPrime

Re: Ride7 editor

We appreciate your support in notifying us of this problem.

Normally modifying directories, file names and other such manipulations should not allow a user to access the latest versions of the software releases.

Any such modifications are not warrantied and void the user support agreement.

New software releases are provided to customers who have purchased a product or a support contract for their product. The only reason for doing this, is that Raisonance engineers invest their time and efforts in providing software updates to correct problems that users encounter, provide new features and support new microcontroller families and variants.

Thank you for showing your support for the Raisonance engineers Bruno, Philibert, Yves, Vincent, Stephane, and Behnaz, who assist users daily at:

As mentioned by Yves above, you could purchase a support extension. For access to the latest versions of the RKit-ARM or Ride7. Purchase links are provided at:
